Redwoods grow in the Lowcountry. They're quite a bit different than redwoods on the West Coast. We recently took a trip to Yosemite National Park in California. The experience was pretty much the opposite of the Lowcountry. The air is drier, which required us to drink significantly more water than we were accustomed to drinking when hiking in South Carolina humidity. Then there are the towering granite mountains as opposed to the lush horizontal wetlands of the Lowcountry. And the trees are monsters.
